Domino do the decent thing and put every known young marble giants studio recording together on this remastered triple cd set. 'colossal youth and collected works' features the rough trade released 'colossal youth' album from 1980, as well as the 'testcard ep', the 'field day' single, the 'salad days' early recordings collection, and young marble giants's cut from the 'is the war over' compilation plus five peel session tracks. 'colossal youth', is a collection of sparse, evocative tunes emphasizing alison statton's floating vocals and minimal guitar / organ / bass / drum machine arrangements. comparable to little else from its time or since, this is rock music at its most austere. 27 years later and it still sounds as fresh as the day it was released. the most essential reissue this year.

GEORGE BEST 20TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR
The Wedding Present will be playing a series of concert dates in October 2007 to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the release of their debut album, George Best. For the British leg of the tour the band will revisit each of the towns played on the original George Best tour of 1987. Furthermore, the album will be played in its entirety as part of the set each night. Please visit the tour page for details of all the concerts that have been confirmed so far.
Precisamente en el Rock de Lux de este mes hay un anuncio sobre una cosa llamada “Rock de Lux Music Weekend”. Da varias fechas en varias ciudades y en Valencia se cita los días 19 y 20 de Octubre. Entre los grupos de un cartel todavía por completar, este The Wedding Present performing “George Best”

Una delicia: Strawberry Fair
Strawberry Fair is one Jenny Franzén and she knows how to produce a good tune. This is Phil Spector influenced pop music and it's very well done. Strawberry Fair have released a couple of CDR's but the last one was in 2003. She has some new tunes to download via My Space and some older ones on the bands site. Sadly the wonderfully named Where Is Alex Taylor Now (after The Shop Assistants and Motorcycle Boy singer) is missing but you can listen to it here as well as reading the story behind it. An act of homage to the great Stephin Merritt of the Magnetic Fields, they are covers of two of his characteristically cinematic and lyrical songs - 'Smoke and Mirrors', and 'The book of Love'.
