'my stupid band' is a cheesy three minute thrash, a fitting tribute to being in a pop group. the song tells the story of a band doomed to misery and obscurity. held together only by brooding resentment and a desire to achieve the impossible, the group continue to release music until one day they discover that they have a hit single. after four albums and eight singles, 'single of the week' reviews in magazines and newspapers, mtv appearances and gigs in record stores and concert halls around the world, the hit parade have become one of the most important indie bands of all time according to people who should know better. the single was recorded in london with st etienne engineer ian catt. the hit parade are currently
at work on their fifth album which will be released in summer 2006.
