sounds like Teenage Fanclub playing My Bloody Valentine

sounds like Teenage Fanclub playing My Bloody Valentine new EP by The Catalysts (with Ulric Kennedy, out of Scotland) after their 7’’ on Felicité. This time we have 4 songs with jangly guitars and lovely vocals, including The Girl From New York that sounds like Teenage Fanclub playing My Bloody Valentine.

Additional info: Ulric Kennedy used to play bass and sing with The Golden Dawn (Sarah Records). Before that he was lead guitarist and vocalist in The Mixers (Wha-am Records). In between the two he formed The Catalysts, whose demos finally saw the light of day when Felicite Singles Club released them as a limited edition 7’’ EP in 2004. The Long Distance EP signals a new beginning for the band, with more to follow soon, including a contribution to The Beautiful Music’s ongoing Television Personalities tribute series and an acoustic EP Wood and Metal, Skin and Bone. Elsewhere, Ulric can be heard contributing to Roy Moller’s Speak When I’m Spoken To LP and The Happy Couple’s Fools In Love EP. Highly recommended!!
