10/09/2006

LLoyd Cole

Es bonito. Lento, melancólico y lleno de medios tiempos. Antidepressant, se llama.
Recorded by Lloyd Cole, 2004-2006, New England*
Mixed by Mick Glossop, Magazine Studio, London.
Mastered by Bunt Stafford Clark, Sanctuary Townhouse, London.
Executive Producion by Chris Hughes. There is no difference between the European and US version of Travelling Light except spelling (one less letter 'L' in US)There are no 'singles' as such. I belive that Sanctuary are 'servicing' radio with a digital single which may or may not be Travelling Light c/w NYC Sunshine. Other territories seem to be choosing their own, which I quite like. Woman in a Bar was just playlisted in heavy rotation on Belgium's Radio 1!!I will be updating the website proper with lyrics and artwork as soon as I get home next week - and the mySpace page will soon have tunes to listen to
Indienella: Spanish pop

habituales de Juan de Pablos. Aquí te puedes bajar su hit maquetero: http://www.vivaelpop.com/07mp3/07.html
texto extraido de http://www.myspace.com/indienella
Indienella (a pun on the name of a very cheesy "romantic" male/female duo from the 80s from Argentina I believe) is a pop duo from Northern Spain (Sofia is from León and Luis is from Gijón, but soon not even geography will keep them apart), who started writing and recording songs a few months ago, intent on creating fun, catchy, meaningful bubblegum lo-fi pop. You tell us if we are on the right track... Here you have three songs we wrote out of the four we recorded at our friend Jorge´s studio, Circo Perrotti, in Gijón (Spain) last April -- an all-analog recording with all-vintage equipment; the fourth song we recorded is "Secretos de belleza", a cover of amazing Spanish new-wave/punk pop band Alaska y los Pegamoides, included in their only album, "Grandes éxitos" (Hispavox 1982 I think). Myspace prevents us from posting other people´s songs, but those interested in listening to it please try www.vivaelpop.com, it should be available there shortly. Soon we´ll add here a new super catchy, super lo-fi 4-track recording!!! And yes, we are interested in doing 45´s!!! We also want to start playing live, but first we need to find a drummer and a bass player... P.S. WE NOW HAVE INDIENELLA T-SHIRTS!!! If you go to our "Pics" section you´ll see how cool they are and how nice they fit! 100% cotton Fruit of the Loom T-shirts available in four different sizes: child 5-6, 7-8, 9-11, and 12-13; color options: pink logo on blue, black, yellow, and green t-shirt; red logo on blue and green t-shirt; green logo on yellow t-shirt. All shirts are 10 euro postpaid in Spain/ 12 euro postpaid Europe/$18 postpaid USA/14 euro postpaid rest of the world. Yes, we silkscreened them ourselves! P.S. 2: JUAN DE PABLOS IS PLAYING INDIENELLA!!! If you don´t already do so check out his nightly "Flor de Pasión" show on Radio 3 (R.N.E.), also available online!

The Pippetes, The Guardian y Sounds That Swing

Their name sounds like a 60s girl group, but the Pipettes are just as happy listening to Slipknot
Así comienza el artículo que The Guardian dedica a The Pipettes ( http://arts.guardian.co.uk/filmandmusic/story/0,,1877522,00.html )
La entrevista se realizó en la retro tienda de discos Sounds that Swing en pleno Camden (46 Inverness Street, NW1 7HB) (Sounds That Swing specialise in an extensive selection of music from the 50's and 60's. They also sell a range of new and second hand records) ver foto en http://www.earth-photography.com/Blog/Picture38.html

The Mary Onettes

("BACK IN BLACK" - http://arts.guardian.co.uk/filmandmusic/story/0,,1882764,00.html ) y se acaba de editar The Gothic Box 3CD/DVD set of early goth is out now on Rhino...
| The Mary Onettes on Labrador | 2006-09-12 |
Labrador are proud to announce that we have signed The Mary Onettes. And you, our dear Labrador friend, gets to hear this brilliant band first. Download "Lost" from their upcoming EP with the same name here/ The Mary Onettes are as close to arenarock as you'll ever get on Labrador. Inspired by guitar pop from the 80's, indie bands from the 90's and the talent to make the best songs you'll ever hear in they 00's they sound like a Swedish relative to Echo & The Bunnymen, The Smiths och The Jesus and Mary Chain from the future. We're convinced you want to hear more from The Mary Onettes after you've downloaded "Lost", so why not check out them at Myspace - http://www.myspace.com/themaryonettes | |
