The Zebras, el batería de The Lucksmiths y el Kiko
Texto sacado del número de Octubre del Rock de Lux. Se trata de la crítica que Kiko Amat hizo del concierto de The Lucksmiths en Barcelona:
"Estoy esperando a que toquen los Lucksmiths y de golpe suena una canción emocionante, y busco a alguien que la tararee, y voy hacia él y me dice que son los Zebras, y el tipo resulta ser el batería de The Lucksmiths... Al terminar el concierto me largo y me encuentro en la calle a Tali White (sí, le bateria de The Lucksmiths) con la boca llena de patatas, y le pregunto otra vez por los Zebras, y me dice, yef, yef, fe febrat."
The Zebras acaban de editar su segundo lp "Worry a lot". Son australianos y de ¡Brisbane!, como the Go Betweens. Esto dice su hoja promocional:
Worry A Lot” is the second album by The Zebras. It contains 12 cuts of the finest guitar-pop that a fan of the genre could wish for. Home recorded with modest arrangement and production, the songs are intelligent yet hummable as hell. Twelve-string electrics and boy/girl harmonies feature heavily on this release and melody is definitely the order of the day. The Zebras have been described as being reminiscent of The Go-betweens or the Flying Nun bands of the 80’s and 90’s, so if that is your bag, this album is sure to please.

They cover the period from 1945 to the start of the Premiership in 1992, a golden age for attendances which dipped badly in the eighties (hence some truly sad programmes) before the boost of Italia 90 and then onwards into a world of big money, bigger bungs, and desktop publishing. This is more scissors and glue, with some inspired amateurism at play.

Loveninjas started with a strict concept playing in ninja-masks, a giant heart costume and writing lyrics about sex, japanese girls and ninjas (mostly all at once). The whole thing ended abruptly when they forgot their heart costume in Stuttgart after a gig this spring. After that they put their masks aside and wrote their best songs ever.
»I wanna be like Johnny C« is one of those songs. It's dancey guitar pop at it’s finest. Tor, singer and songwriter of the band, may sing he wants to be someone else, but track is so so full of self-confidence, attitude and is so expressive it’s impossible to believe himr.
The EP features three exclusive tracks that won't appear on the upcoming debutalbum »The Secret of the Loveninjas«.

Pop music is not about creating perfect records - it's about creating perfect moments. So said Tim Vass. The Rain Fell Down is a radio show solely dedicated to pop music.
