Second album by the unsung heroes of Finnish indie pop, now available in the US! Sharing two members with jangle and shuffle meisters Ultrasport, Red Carpet's new album is further testimony to the vitality of the (criminally overlooked) pop scene currently bubbling under in Finland. These 12 gorgeous, colorful songs are the perfect new discovery for fans of everything from Nada Surf to Buffalo Springfield! "What do you get when you cross the songwriting of Simon & Garfunkel with the Red House Painters and have Teenage Fanclub play the results? Red Carpet!" -recordoffice.net. "Finland's #1 harmony pop group" -Rumba Music Magazine (Finland)
- SCARBORO AQUARIUM CLUB "Black swan days" (Becalmed)
COMING 2/27/2006
Black Swan Days is the follow-up to Scarboro Aquarium Club’s acclaimed debut Poisoned. Like its predecessor, this new album is mainly the work of Corey W Schmidt with help from a few collaborators. Corey’s passion for pop music is again present in 12 songs that draw equally from the folk songwriting of the 60s and 80s tecno-pop, with references to such different artists as Scott Walker (‘Blind Like The Sun’), Roxy Music (‘All Her Careful Plans’), Saint Etienne (‘Before The Morning Light’) and the exotic legacy of El Records (‘The Queen Of The Beach’). But more than anything, “Black Swan Days” is a contemporary record which follows a tradition of devoted music artisans that goes from Brian Wilson through Todd Rundgren to Stephin Merrit of the Magnetic Fields, artists who understand the pop craft as predominantly an individual process with the aim to become universal

COMING 3/20/2006
5013929445321. Evie Sands....one of the most astonishing female vocalists in the world, the favourite singer of Dusty Springfield among many others....yes, we've been through all this before, but....well...it needs to be said!.... After a series of critically acclaimed disappointments in the 1960s, Evie at last got her due with the sublime (and monster hit!) 1969 single and album "Any Way That You Want Me" on A&M (also on RevOla!).....a couple of years later, Evie was to team with Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter, erstwhile hitmakers at Dunhill Records....masterminds of the label's dazzling second run, going from re-inventing The Grass Roots as pop/soul hitmakers, to the personal triumph of relaunching the hit career of The Four Tops....On a roll, they were able to launch Haven Records, to which their first signing was Evie....for this superb album, written and produced by the duo, which was a huge success, both artistic and commercial for Evie, and spawned the hit singles "You Brought The Woman Out Of Me" and "I Love Makin' Love To You".....along with a raft of cover versions by Barbra Streisand, Gladys Knight, Dusty Springfield, Dobie Gray ("You Can Do It" Billboard Top 20, R&B Chart), Dionne Warwick, Frankie Valli, Cher and Greg Allman, The Manhattans, Phyllis Hyman, Jose Feliciano, Linda Clifford, June Pointer, Weather Girls, Liona Boyd, The Ebonys, Karen Carpenter, Tom Jones, Betty Everett, and many others.....a songwriting coup for Dennis and Brian, and for Evie herself.... So here we are, with the original album, as well as no less than 5 unreleased bonus tracks of stunning quality....another triumph for Evie....and for Lambert & Potter....and for RevOla!
